Game Recap

Patrick Henry got back to their passing game and connected throughout the midfield to get several good looks at the goal cage, but their shots went just wide or were saved by an athletic Henrico goal keeper.

It would again be Freshman call-up forward Maggie Ward who started the scoring for the Patriots. Ward collected a brilliant, spot-on pass from Senior forward Molly Enright and one-timed it into the net to beat the off-balance keeper. PH would take the 1-0 lead into the half.

The second half looked much like the first as PH created opportunities, but were thwarted again by the Henrico keeper. Building on the offensive push, PH found a foot of a defender to earn a penalty corner and converted to made it count. Senior Utility player Natalie Nichols inserted the ball to an awaiting Enright, who calmly collected the ball and released a dead-on rifle to the far corner of the boards for the 2 – 0 lead.

Great performances from the starting lineup as well as the bench propelled PH over the Warriors for the second time this season.

PH is now 5-6 and will face Atlee on Monday, October 9.
